1.09.07 - “Hire more corrections […] officers to hold criminals accountable and protect victims”
In June 2020, the province announced that it would invest $500 million in corrections over the next five years, with some funding allocated towards increasing the number of correctional officers. As of May 2021, the Ontario government has hired 133 new correctional officers. The promise is therefore considered kept.
