There continues to be additional investments made in mental health facilities such as CAMH and the newly announced centre for first responders; however, the government still falls short of its goal to invest $3.8 billion in mental health care.
“With funding from the provincial and federal governments, a Toronto health-care facility is set to build and run a rehabilitation centre dedicated to treating first responders and medical personnel for post-traumatic stress injuries. The Runnymede Healthcare Centre is set to detail its plans on Thursday afternoon, alongside Premier Doug Ford.”

There continues to be additional investments made in mental health; however, the government still falls short of its goal to invest $3.8 billion. This promise remains in progress.
“The Ontario government is investing over $34.6 million to support upgrades and the addition of new facilities at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) so they can continue to provide high-quality care and better address the unique mental health needs of patients.”

“That is why Ontario’s Government for the People is committed to investing $3.8 billion for mental health, addictions and housing supports over 10 years to address these issues, beginning with building a mental health and addictions system focused on core services embedded in a stepped‐care model, and a robust data and measurement framework. Investments of $174 million in 2019–20 will support community mental health and addictions services, mental health and justice services, supportive housing, and acute mental health inpatient beds.”
