2.04.035 - “As part of its plan to expand GO service in the region, the Ontario PCs will build four new GO stations east of Oshawa, including […] Bowmanville”

This promise is part of the extension of the Bowmanville Go (see more here). As there remains no update to the proposed GO stations, this is considered broken.
“In 2011, Metrolinx completed an Environmental Project Report (EPR) to assess the proposed expansion of GO transit infrastructure from Oshawa to Bowmanville. The EPR for the Oshawa to Bowmanville Rail Service Expansion and Whitby Rail Maintenance Facility, referred to as the ‘Project’, considered the potential environmental impacts of the Project and recommended appropriate mitigation measures. […] Following the Virtual Public Information Centre and Virtual Open House held in June 2023, the addendum to the previously-completed 2011 Environmental Project Report (EPR) was ready for review and comment for a 30-day period from Thursday, October 5, 2023 to Monday, November 6, 2023.”

This promise was initially made during the Ford government’s first term (see more here). The project received further commitments during the 2022 Budget, and in 2023, the Ontario government announced that it had awarded a contract to advance planning. Over the summer of 2023 Metrolinx ran consultations with communities impacted, which was supplemented with a 30 day public review period in October 2023. This promise continues to be in progress.

This promise is part of the extension of the Bowmanville Go (see more here). This promise remains not yet rated as it is contingent on the Go service expansion moving forward.
“The Bowmanville GO Rail Extension: Ontario is advancing work to expand GO Transit rail services from Oshawa into Bowmanville. This extension along the Lakeshore East corridor will help reduce gridlock and provide expanded rail service in Durham beyond the current terminus at Oshawa GO Station.”
