Since it is still too early to know the impacts this investment will have, we consider this promise to still be pending.

“The New Brunswick Coalition for Pay Equity welcomes the government’s commitments in the 2025-2026 budget, notably the investment in additional resources for the Pay Equity Bureau to work on developing pay equity legislation for the private sector”.

Traces of this promise can be found in the mandate letter addressed to the Minister responsible for Women’s Equality and Seniors, Lyne Chantal Boudreau. Mandate letters define ministerial objectives. Therefore, this promise remains an ongoing priority, and we will monitor its implementation.
