The 2022 Quebec general election held on October 3, 2022 resulted in a second decisive victory for the Coalition avenir Québec (CAQ), led by François Legault. The CAQ won 90 of the 125 seats in the National Assembly, 16 more than in 2018, with 40.98% of the popular vote.

Justification

For the year 2023, the budget dedicates more than 650 million over 6 years which will allow for a total of 5250 new affordable social housing units.

“To even further increase the supply of social and affordable housing, Budget 2023-2024 is providing $650.1 million over six years. This investment will allow for the construction of more than 5 250 housing units and ensure that the existing stock is maintained.”
