En octobre 2021, le gouvernement Ford a annoncé que l’hôpital passait à l’étape 2 de la planification, qui implique un financement et une date fixe pour le début de la procédure d’appel d’offres. La procédure d’appel d’offres pour le nouvel hôpital de Windsor-Essex commencera probablement au début de 2025, et la construction devrait débuter en 2027. En mai 2023, l’hôpital a annoncé qu’il avait achevé l’étape 1.3 du processus de planification, qui comprend un plan de campus. Cette promesse est considérée comme étant en cours de réalisation, car nous continuons à voir le projet aller de l’avant.

“Windsor Regional Hospital on Tuesday announced the tendering process will likely begin in early 2025. Construction of the new $2-billion acute-care facility is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2027, and will take about four years.”
